Electromobility in Bavaria. Construction of the charging station infrastructure
From today, July 1st, 2022, it is again possible in Bavaria to get subsidies for publicly accessible charging stations. Funding applications can now be submitted again for the purchase of new charging stations, the grid connection, the ground work and the parking lot markings. All natural and legal persons are eligible to apply. Companies under civil law (GbR) are excluded. In order to receive funding, the following points are defined as prerequisites:
- At least 2 charging stations with more than 22 KW or 4 charging stations with up to 22 KW must be set up
- The charging station must be open to the public (at least 12 hours on weekdays)
- The charging station must be powered by renewable energy
- The charging stations must be operated for at least 6 years
- The applicable charging station regulation
Publicly accessible charging stations in Bavaria can be subsidized as follows:
- Charging stations ≥ 3.7 kW to ≤ 22 kW: 40 %, max. €2,500 per station
- Charging stations > 22 kW to < 100 kW: 40 %, max. €10,000 per station
- Charging stations ≥ 100 kW, 40 %, max. €20,000 per station
- Charging columns ≥ 100 kW incl. integrated buffer storage ≥ 75 kWh, 40 %, max. €25,000 per column
The application is always made per location and maximum funding is granted for accessibility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The subsidy is reduced by half if only the minimum requirement is met!
The grant can be increased by 50 if one of the following criteria is met:
- construction in residential areas
- Set up in close proximity to mobility stations or P&R car parks
- Controlled and load-optimized charging
- Authentication via a major debit and credit card system
- Barrier-free use of the charging point for people with motor disabilities
Why work with a grant advisor?
Most companies do not have the time to deal with the funding programs and their guidelines. Comparing the guidelines with the project ideas is usually not part of the planning. Later in the implementation phase, no project manager will normally be happy to compare every adjustment to the project with the submitted applications and report them accordingly. Conversely, however, every entrepreneur would like to win the non-repayable grants for themselves!
It is therefore the task of a funding advisor:
- Identify funding programs
- Assess eligibility
- to create applications
- Responsible for administrative management throughout the project
- Notify the sponsor of any adjustments
- Ensuring that all formal conditions are met and the grants are paid
legal entitlement to funding
There is almost no legal entitlement to any funding that is applied for. An exception here is the Innovation Promotion Act of the Federal Republic of Germany. There is a legal entitlement to a subsidy of up to €1 million per year. Funding is primarily provided for personnel costs that have been pursued in an activity that can be defined as innovative.
